Configuration and New Day¶
Configuration controls¶
- Currencies: approved name, alias, exchange rate, and one primary currency.
- Payment Methods: names and aliases matching the tender actually used.
- Taxes and Tax Groups: approved codes, rates, and grouping.
- Expense Categories and Managers: consistent reporting and approval owners.
- Payroll setup: banks, components, policies, and user access.
- General Settings: approved organization and daily-processing rules.
Use this safe-change sequence:
Approved request → record current value → change one item → save once → test a draft document and report → record the result
Never change a currency or tax merely to make one document total agree.
What New Day means¶
Back Office New Day closes the current Back Office business date and moves work to the next business date. It provides a Note field so the authorized user can record the closing reference.
Before New Day:
- Review draft, pending, on-hold, overdue, and unpaid sales documents.
- Confirm all received payments and authorized payment corrections.
- Reconcile cash books and payment methods.
- Review submitted expenses and procurement differences.
- Review payroll actions due for the date.
- Run the required sales, expense, cash, accounting, and payroll reports.
- Resolve or formally hand over every exception.
- Confirm no pending bills or orders remain across connected OTO operations.
- Obtain Supervisor authorization.
Open New Day, confirm the displayed current date, enter a useful note, and select New Day once. Verify that the business date changed to the expected next date and recheck the dashboard and open-work lists.
Do not use New Day to correct a document entered on the wrong date, and do not advance the shared training date during practice.
